Mahindra Satyam has secured a contract to provide IT services to the state of Kentucky in the United States. The company did not disclose the financial details of the contract but said it was to design and deliver a document management system. The project would be implemented over 20 months, it added.
Uflex Ltd.
The board of Uflex has decided to withdraw a rights issue proposed earlier. Further details were not provided. In July 2010, Uflex's board had approved a rights issue, with the price to be decided later.
Sun TV
The open offer by Sun TV founder Kalanithi Maran and his unlisted aviation firm Kal Airways to acquire equity shares of SpiceJet will open on 18 October 2010 and close on 16 November 2010. In June 2010, Maran and Kal Airways had agreed to buy 37.7% in the carrier from US investor Wilbur Ross and Royal Holdings Services, held by the Kansagra family, for Rs 739 crore at Rs 47.25 a share.
Aditya Birla Group
Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, will reportedly raise stake in Aditya Birla Nuvo, which owns 25.38% in Idea Cellular, to 51% from current 46% by converting preferential warrants into equity shares.
NTPC is reportedly looking to enter power distribution business in the state of Punjab by acquiring the state-owned electricity distribution company.
